The full Leeds United squad are set to assemble in the next couple of days as stars begin to return from international duty this week. Daniel Farke will be preparing them for Premier League action this weekend when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Several Leeds players were in action for their national teams during the break, and played in big games as teams look to book their place in next year’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

A few of the Whites stars were involved in high-intensity games, and there are already question marks around the fitness of at least one Leeds player who apparently played for his national team despite not being fit enough to start.

However, a few of the Leeds players have also coped with criticism for their performance as their national teams fumbled and floundered against seemingly weaker opposition, and Gabriel Gudmundsson is one of them.

Can you name these 10 former Leeds United goalkeepers?

Leeds United star Gabriel Gudmundsson slammed for performance against Kosovo

Kosovo pulled off a huge result on Monday night when they beat a fancied Sweden team 2-0 at home in a big World Cup qualifier.

Sweden have one point from their opening two World Cup qualifiers and are in danger of missing out on playing in the tournament next year.

Gudmundsson is one of the players who have been picked up for criticism for his performance in defence as the left-back of the Swedish national team.

His defensive game was criticised, and he was slammed for playing wrong passes and losing the ball countless times, which led to counterattacks.

The full-back was also slammed for failing to add anything to Sweden’s attack against a weaker Kosovo team.

Fotbollskanalen wrote about his performance: “Some weak passes that led to dangerous counterattacks.

[He] lost the ball. Not nearly as strong as before in the national team, and was outplayed several times.

“Did not contribute offensively.”

Leeds will hope the performance was just a blip

Gudmundsson was brought in during the summer as the replacement for Junior Firpo, who left the club at the end of last season on a free transfer.

The defender has looked solid in the first three Premier League games, but the performance against Kosovo has come at the wrong time for Leeds.

He will return to training with Leeds this week, and Farke and his coaching staff will hope that the defender will put that performance behind him ahead of the Fulham clash this weekend.

Leeds need him to pick up his form as they have a good run of games coming up, where they can pick up more points to boost their survival hopes.
