£10M star sends reminder to Leeds United after latest move

This summer, Leeds United boss Daniel Farke made his plans quite clear concerning the first team squad. In the first few weeks of the training camp in Germany, most players in the squad knew their status before the new season.

The biggest decision Farke made was telling Patrick Bamford he was no longer part of the first team’s plans. After an injury-riddled past few seasons, the German said he could no longer trust the veteran striker on the pitch.

Mateo Joseph was also one player who found out about his future the hard way. After finishing his stint with the Spain U21 team at the Euros, he planned to hold talks with the club over his playing time for the upcoming season. Joseph asked for a transfer, and refused to show up for pre-season. Leeds eventually sent him out on loan to Mallorca in La Liga.

Last season, Leeds made a lot of signings to the first team. Players like Ao Tanaka and Manor Solomon played a big part in the Whites winning promotion and the Championship. Other signings did not have the same situations. Largie Ramazani and Isaac Schmidt were two promising talents signed last year. Many thought they would have an impact on the first team, especially the Belgian, who came from Spain with a lot of expectations.

Ramazani only ended up making a total of seven starts all season, but still managed to score six goals. Last weekend, he was left out from the squad to face Arsenal, and it was discovered that Leeds planned to loan him out. He completed his move this week. And in his first game for the La Liga side, he came off the bench to provide an assist in a 3-0 win for Carlos Corberan’s side.

Daniel Farke should have given youngster a chance

The Belgian was out injured for most of last season, and never got a consistent run of games. But Daniel Farke should have done a better job with him. His talent stood out for the club to pay a sizeable amount to sign him, why discard him in 12 months after not giving him a chance to prove himself?

Leeds fans will also be furious after the decision to keep Jack Harrison and Brenden Aaronson at the club over the Belgian.
