Leeds United had a pretty busy transfer window this summer. The club recruited 10 players, investing close to £100million, but the fans were still disappointed with how the summer went.
Most of them thought the club should have focused more on attacking reinforcements, after Daniel Farke asked for signings during pre-season. Leeds only signed three attackers, spending just £18million on actual transfers – signing Noah Okafor from AC Milan. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha joined as free agents.
When it comes to sales, the club made just two permanent transfers – Sam Greenwood and Diogo Monteiro. The other players left on temporary deals: Largie Ramazani, Joe Gelhardt, Mateo Joseph and Max Wober.

Leeds United defender yet to play this season

Max Wober was one of the players expected to leave Elland Road this summer; the Austrian defender had been out of favour under Daniel Farke. Wober publicly announced during an international break this summer that he had been asked to find a new club. During the transfer window, Werder Bremen struck an agreement to sign him. It was supposed to be a permanent transfer, but Leeds later changed the deal to a loan with option to buy because of PSR.
Wober joined the Bundesliga side and began training with them. But a few weeks into the season, he picked up an injury. It was just a knock, as he was able to feature in a cup game. He then picked up another injury and was taken off. Bremen later confirmed that Wober had a thigh muscle injury that could see him out for two months.
The defender has yet to feature in a single league game this season. Leeds were right to loan him out, he would have been a burden at the club.
His replacement has been frozen out of first team
This summer, the Whites signed Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw as backups for the backline. However, the two have found first team minutes difficult to come by. The only game either have played in this season was in the EFL Cup against Sheffield Wednesday.
Daniel Farke recently explained that Bornauw is not in the first team squad because of the competition in defence. The Belgian defender has yet to be named in a matchday squad since the end of August.
