Leeds United have enjoyed a solid start to life in the Premier League, with several summer signings already making a significant impact. That said, the club missed out on a few transfer targets, but, at this stage, they might not regret passing on some of them.
The recruitment came under a lot of pressure in the summer despite spending more than £100m on ten new signings. Many felt that they didn’t do enough to improve the attacking quality of their squad, and the bad finish to the window further coloured opinion about the club’s signings.
Leeds’ failure to sign Harry Wilson on deadline day was very public, and they had no time to turn to other targets once Fulham changed their mind just minutes before the end of the window.
However, they had other targets as well, and one of them, Christantus Uche, did arrive in England. But he joined Crystal Palace instead of Leeds on transfer deadline day.
The Leeds United target is struggling at Crystal Palace

Uche was not sold on leaving Getafe in the summer, but the Spanish club convinced him to move on as they had already accounted for his departure.
Palace finally agreed on a deal worth £17m on deadline day to sign him from Getafe. However, the forward is not getting minutes at Selhurst Park.
He played one half in the EFL Cup win over Millwall and made his Premier League debut in a six-minute cameo against Sunderland last month.
However, he was an unused substitute in the last two Premier League games and suffered the same fate in the Europa Conference League win over Dynamo Kyiv this week.
Palace are one of the form teams of the league and are unbeaten this season. Oliver Glasner has no reason to change his side at this stage of the campaign.
Uche was one of the stars of the Getafe team, but has barely got off the bench since joining Crystal Palace on deadline day.
Would it have gone any differently had he joined Leeds? We don’t know.
Leeds need attackers in January
However, Leeds look short in the final third of the pitch, and the club will need to bring in a couple of attackers in the winter transfer window.
With Daniel James and Wilfried Gnonto out injured, their forward options have been further reduced, and Daniel Farke is lacking options on the bench.
Leeds have plans to bring in a winger and an attacking midfielder when the transfer window reopens in January to sustain their challenge of staying up in the Premier League.
