Leeds United produced a strong performance at Molineux on Saturday, beating Wolves 3-1 and taking their points total to seven in five games at the start of the Premier League season. However, one player smashed a Premier League record with his performance in the first half.
It was the day of the new signings for Leeds as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor and Anton Stach all scored their first Leeds goals to help their new team to a much-needed win over a struggling Wolves side, who have lost their opening five league games.
Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring for Leeds when he converted a difficult header to take his side to level terms after the home side had scored early in the game.
Stach produced a sumptuous free-kick to give Leeds the lead at Molineux, before Okafor joined the party with a third goal to more or less seal the win and the points towards the end of the first half.

Okafor broke records in his first-half performance for Leeds against Wolves

Okafor expressed his delight after scoring his first goal for Leeds at Wolves, and conceded that it was always his dream to play in the Premier League.
The winger had some pressure on him going into the Wolves game, but he showed why the Whites spent considerable money to sign him despite his injury record.
According to statistician Jonny Cooper, Okafor smashed a six-year-old Premier League record in his first-half performance against Wolves.

The winger completed 12 dribbles in the first half against Wolves, which was the most by a player in the first 45 minutes since Wilfried Zaha on Boxing Day 2019.
The former AC Milan star was a constant menace and demonstrated the threat he poses in the Premier League if he remains fit this season.
Leeds need to build on this
Farke and his Leeds team were under pressure to get a result at Wolves, and they got the job done in some style and grit at Molineux.
Wolves look like certainties to get relegated this early in the season, but that doesn’t take anything away from a solid Leeds performance, and they deserved the three points.
However, Leeds must build on this performance and prove their progress when Bournemouth visit Elland Road next weekend.
A result at home against a good Cherries side will show Farke’s team are improving, but they very much feel like a team that seems good enough to survive in the Premier League.
