Two Leeds United summer signings opened their accounts in the win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. Daniel Farke’s men suffered a disappointing defeat in London and were hoping to bounce back.
The club had yet to win a game on the road in this campaign. Leeds’ goal drought continued, as the Whites had not scored in the league from open play. Daniel Farke’s men ended up beating Vitor Pereira’s side 3-1 away from home.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his first goal for the club with a header, before Anton Stach converted a beautiful free kick to give Leeds the lead. Noah Okafor wrapped up a solid first performance extending the lead to 3-1.

Stach has been a huge signing for Leeds United this season, and has gotten off to a bright start so far. There have been whispers that he has caught the eye of Germany coach Julien Nagelsmann ahead of next year’s World Cup.
The midfielder scored a delightful free kick on Saturday, but had so much praise for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Everyone at the club was excited when the former Everton man scored his first goal. Anton Stach made a remark after the game that Calvert-Lewin’s performance could lead to and England recall from Thomas Tuchel in the near future:
“Maybe. Everything is possible. He’s really important for us, for the club.” he said to Leeds Live.
“I hope he keeps going, he keeps scoring. That’s most important for us.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin speaks about his first goal for Leeds United
Saturday was the first time in months that Dominic Calvert-Lewin had scored a Premier League goal. After the game, he was asked about how he felt after his performance and the result for the club.
“I really enjoyed it, a great day at the office, to win in the manner we did, to get on the scoresheet, three different scorers,” he told LUTV.
“We kind of put those ‘we don’t have enough threat on the pitch’ rumours to bed. A good day.
“For me, getting that goal, it’s nice to get my first one for the club, and I’ll look to build on it.”
The striker riled up the home crowd after his goal on Saturday, cupping his hands over his ear and pointing to the back of his jersey to remind Wolves fans about who he is.
