One thing Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has been crying out for since last year is an attacking midfielder. The club are yet to make a signing in that position.
Last season, Leeds had to make do with Brenden Aaronson. After missing out on a move for Gustavo Hamer, Aaronson was put into the starting lineup. The American had a great start to the season, but lost steam around January. He had nine goals and two assists, but even then, fans were not happy with his overall play.
Aaronson recently admitted that fatigue played a part in his poor form from January.

Leeds have been linked with some targets in that area of the pitch. Reports have speculated that a decision will come down to Daniel Farke. The main targets are said to be Emi Buendia and Gus Hamer.
Reports from Ireland suggested that Middlesbrough star Finn Azaz was being considered by Leeds, but no move has been made so far. Now, the midfielder has spoken on the upcoming season, hinting towards a move in the future:
“I’ve got a contract with Boro of course, my focus is on pre-season at the moment. “I’m really happy at my club. I’ve had a great year. I’ve got a lot of respect for everyone at the club and it’s been amazing for me.” he said speaking to the Irish Sun.
The midfielder also spoke about his desire to play in the Premier League.
“I had a great season personally so obviously I want to keep developing and my ambition is to play at the highest level. Whether that be the Premier League or going abroad, I want to play at the highest level.
“I’m fully aware that there’s a lot of Premier League players in the Irish team and I’m looking at the World Cup qualifiers and the World Cup next summer,”
Finn Azaz is good, but Leeds have better options
Azaz is a good target, but for the price being mentioned, there are better options. The midfielder had a brilliant season, but so did Brenden Aaronson.

There are also questions about how he plays, as he targets more high risk passes than attempting to control possession.
