23-year-old Leeds United star has shown ‘real tenacity’ – Ex-Whites boss

Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson has reportedly raked in overseas interest

Former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn has stressed that Brenden Aaronson has been tenacious since his return and is clear that he wants to be part of the team.

Aaronson joined Union Berlin on loan when Leeds got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 campaign and spent last season in Germany.

The attacking midfielder returned to Leeds this summer and made a decision to try and help the Whites get promoted back to the Premier League from the Championship.

He has been a key part of the team despite his lack of physicality getting criticised and Daniel Farke has continued to trust him in the attacking midfield role in his Whites side.

Aaronson was brilliant in the Leeds midfield on Saturday when they beat Coventry City 3-0 at home and was praised for the work ethic he showed on the pitch.

He is still trying to win back the fans but the United States international is finally showing glimpses of his talent in west Yorkshire.

Brendan Aaronson showing real tenacity, admits former Leeds United boss

Aaronson is looking to reestablish himself in the Whites midfield and become part of a team that get Leeds back to the Premier League this season.

Redfearn is impressed with the kind of character and tenacity the midfielder has shown since his return to Elland Road in the summer.

He admitted that is all well and good for players providing lip service about wanting to be at Leeds but admitted that the US international has shown that really wants to be part of the team at Elland Road.

“He has come back and shown real tenacity, Aaronson”, Redfearn said on BBC Radio Leeds.

“He wants to be part of this, you can see that.

“Actually saying it and coming back doing it are two different things but he wants to be part of this.”

Aaronson will hope to become more consistent as he tries to help Leeds earn promotion to the Premier League this season.
