Leeds United have not had the best of days after consecutive losses to Arsenal and Sheffield United. The loss to the Owls on Tuesday night really came as shock.

Before the game, Daniel Farke said he would make smart changes to the lineup as he hoped his team could reach the next round. Owls boss Henrik Pedersen fielded a line up of U21 players on the night. The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, and Leeds missed all their penalties as they lost the shootout.

After the game, Farke said he was disappointed with the defeat because his team were the better side:

“They’re professional footballers, it’s not like we played against a youth team. But they did rest some of their more experienced players. We have to take all the criticism. There are so many shocks and surprises in this competition and it was just one of those days. Congratulations to Sheffield. We feel embarrassed as a Premier League side to not go through in a game like this, you just can say sorry.”

Leeds United target considering leaving his club

According to The Athletic, Emi Buendia is seriously considering his future at Aston Villa. The midfielder worked his way into Unai Emery’s plans after performing very well in pre-season. Buendia was loaned out last season, after being surplus to requirement. But after just one substitute appearance in two Premier League games, he is considering his short-term future.

The report indicates that Buendia was not happy when he was substituted against Brentford after coming on as a substitute. However, Emery wants him with the team, and Villa even rejected a loan deal from Stuttgart recently.

If he does choose to leave, Leeds United still have their eye on a move for him.

Playmaker badly needed

Brenden Aaronson looks like he will not be guaranteed starter like last season. Leeds could do with a spark in midfield; there was nobody to create or carry the ball on the counter against Arsenal. A player like Buendia can help with that.

Havin previous experience working under Daniel Farke, this move could really work out for the Whites.
