Leeds United have done decent business this summer, and have so far signed seven new players, including striker Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer. More work will be done on the squad in the coming weeks as they prepare for their first season back in the Premier League in two years.

The Whites have spent just over £75m to majorly deepen their defensive and midfield resources before the start of the Premier League season. However, Daniel Farke is aware that more needs to be done to improve the quality of their attack in the coming weeks to ensure there is creativity and goals in the team.

Leeds tried to sign Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao, but that move has failed as the winger is now on the verge of completing a £30m move to French giants Marseille in the ongoing transfer window.

The Whites are still in the market for a striker, and the club are considering moves for Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz and Roma’s Artem Dovbyk. They are also assessing bringing in a new attacking midfielder as an upgrade to Brenden Aaronson.

Manchester City are ready to sell Leeds United target James McAtee on one condition

Leeds have been monitoring the situation of the Manchester City midfielder this summer, but there are suggestions that the club do not want to sell him.

Manchester City rejected a £25m bid from Nottingham Forest for McAtee, and Pep Guardiola would prefer to keep the player at the Etihad next season.

However, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester City’s transfer stance on the midfielder could change on one condition.

It has been claimed that if McAtee puts in a request to leave, the club are prepared to sanction his sale in the ongoing transfer window.

Manchester City do not want to stand in his way if the England Under-21 star wants to move on from the Etihad this summer, but they still want a good fee.

It could take an offer in excess of £40m for Manchester City to sanction the midfielder’s departure in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Leeds remain keen on him, but McAtee is yet to push for a move, and it is unclear whether the Whites are prepared to match his asking price.

Signing McAtee would be a coup for Leeds

Brenden Aaronson was a key player for Leeds last season, but his physical struggles in the Premier League previously are still a vivid memory for the fans.

There are question marks over his suitability for the Premier League’s intensity, and Leeds are looking at attacking midfielders this summer.

McAtee would be a huge upgrade on Aaronson, and would be a major coup if Leeds are to convince him to move to Elland Road in the ongoing window.

He is one of the finest young players to come out of the Manchester City academy and is highly rated by Pep Guardiola himself.

However, Leeds are yet to sign a striker, and spending more than £40m on an attacking midfielder could be a bridge too far for the Whites this summer.
