The 49ers will be overseeing Leeds United and their return to the Premier League. The ownership group’s aim for the club when they took over in 2023 was to restore them to their past glory.

When it comes to size and status, Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England. Since their return to the top flight, pundits and legends alike have all said that the club belongs at this level.

Part of the 49ers plan is to make the club a huge global brand. Partnerships with Red Bull and Adidas show just how far the team has come in recent years. Hopefully Daniel Farke and all the new signings in the team this season will make the club’s return to the Premier League very successful.

Leeds United owners earn record stadium income

The 49ers enterprises have received a huge financial boost. Sportico is reporting that Leeds’ ownership generated £131million in stadium income last season from their NFL team. This is the third year in a row that they have topped the charts.

The income equates to around £8million per regular season game in the NFL. In contrast, Leeds earned just less than £31million in the same period, which averages at around £650,000 per match at Elland Road.

Elland Road expansion will be a huge boost for the club

Last season, the £31million generated from Elland Road was the highest in the Championship. And with the planned expansion of the stadium, the club could be looking at even more than that. There will be plans for hospitality and premium seating to help boost matchday income.

With the expansion, Leeds are expected to earn closer to £40million, which is close to some of the biggest teams in the country. 53,000 capacity puts the club just above Everton’s new stadium when it comes to size.

Stadium expansion should not neglect the fans

Home crowd is important, but the club needs to figure out a solution to the away support. Recently, fan groups have complained about the new ticketing system. Leeds have launched a new ‘ballot’ system for the new Premier League season. The club say the decision was informed off the back of conversations with supporter groups including their ‘Supporters Advisory Board’.

Leeds should not be concerned with matchday income so much that they forget the fans.
