49ers have been embarrassed again by £112k a week Leeds United star – fans won’t like it

Jack Harrison Leeds United

This summer saw Daniel Farke make a lot of changes to the Leeds United squad. He also made key decisions on who would feature in the Premier League this season.

In the summer, he told Patrick Bamford that the striker was not in his plans for the upcoming season. Bamford eventually left the club after mutually terminating his deal. Farke also gave the green light for Mateo Joseph and Largie Ramazani to leave on loan.

The most baffling decision was bringing back Jack Harrison. After the winger had spent two season out on loan, no one really expected him to return to Elland Road. But he was reintegrated into the first team for this campaign.

Jack Harrison set for Leeds United exit

Despite getting 10 new signings in the summer, Daniel Farke continues to rely on a small core of the team. This has seen a lot of players miss out on regular action, with some reportedly unhappy at the club. Sebastiaan Bornauw is one of these players, with reports that his agent has offered him to German clubs. But Farke is said to want to keep him around as cover for the backline.

This season, Jack Harrison has not seen much action, despite being a part of pre-season. He is one of the club’s highest earners on £112,000 a week. But it has emerged in the last couple of weeks that the winger is unhappy with his playing time. Valencia had been linked with a move for him, but strong reports indicate that he might head to Fiorentina in the Serie A. It is a move that some fans anticipated would eventually happen, now everyone is surprised that it will be completed soon.

Move will embarrass 49ers again

This summer was rightly criticized by the Leeds United fans; some of the decisions the 49ers made were baffling. The most scrutinized one being the decision to keep Harrison around in the Premier League. Now that seems to have backfired as he is on his way to Italy.

Fans will be confused as to why the club and Daniel Farke gave him the green light to be part of the pre-season, and the squad for over half the campaign just to leave in January.

Jack Harrison Last Five Seasons
Season Club Games Minutes Goals Assists
2021/22 Leeds United 38 2,918 10 2
2022/23 Leeds United 40 3,008 6 10
2023/24 Everton (loan) 36 2,758 4 3
2024/25 Everton (loan) 38 2,168 1 0

His place in the team could have been taken up by one of the attackers they sent out on loan in the summer. It would have been a much better use of resources than this. As for Jack Harrison, regardless of if Fiorentina take the obligation to buy or not, he is finally done with the fanbase – no one will want anything to do with him anymore.
