Leeds United are in dire straits after a run of six defeats in seven. Daniel Farke’s future at the club is uncertain, with the 49ers considering several managerial options to replace him.
Farke has not been sacked yet despite losing the last four games. However, the owners are expected to make that move if Leeds lose the next two against Chelsea and Liverpool at home.
The 49ers are giving the German a longer rope as he still does have some credit for returning Leeds to the Premier League. But patience is wearing thin at Elland Road as the team are now sitting in the relegation zone.

| Nottingham Forest vs Leeds | 3–1 |

However, there are worries that the strong second-half showing in the 3-2 defeat against Manchester City could force the 49ers to change their mind about sacking Farke.
49ers’ stalling at Rangers is a sign for Leeds United
The 49ers have not made the brightest of starts as owners at Rangers, the club they took charge of over the summer.
They had to sack their own managerial appointment, Russell Martin, after a disastrous start to the season, and removed their own handpicked chief executive and director of football in Patrick Stewart and Kevin Thelwell respectively.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are stalling on appointing a new director of football before a crucial transfer window.
The Glasgow giants are set to be without a sporting director or a director of football during the January transfer window as the 49ers seek to restructure the club.
The American owners are focused on identifying the right chief executive before turning to the matter of bringing in a new director of football.
Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe has a huge say on matters at Rangers, where he is the vice-chairman of the board.
Leeds fans should be worried
The 49ers have made several mistakes at Rangers, which have made Leeds fans more circumspect about them at Elland Road.
They identified the wrong manager in Russell Martin before sacking him. Rangers brought in Danny Rohl as his successor, but they had no one lined up when Martin was sacked, which showed a lack of planning.
The dismissal of Stewart and Thelwell also didn’t make them look good, as they were their handpicked appointments when the 49ers took charge of Rangers.
However, the call to delay the appointment of the director of football ahead of the winter window smacks of an ownership group who are indecisive and do not have their ducks in a row.
This should worry Leeds fans as the 49ers may soon be called to sack Farke and bring in his replacement if they lose the next two at home this season.
The 49ers’ decision-making at Rangers will not fill any Leeds fan with any confidence about a potential managerial change in the coming days.
