49ers to bankroll major Leeds United transfer

There’s a lot to be happy about at Leeds United and a feeling that things could get even better.

Of course, not everything is perfect with Largie Ramazani likely to be ruled out of the Saturday lunchtime clash with Bristol City through injury with Junior Firpo also set to miss the game through suspension, but Leeds United have shown real character this year when responding to these kinds of setbacks.

In truth, they have no right to be level on points with second place Burnley, nor just three points behind leaders Sunderland. In fact, they should be top had they held on against Sunderland recently and would have done if not for an Illian Meslier blunder. But given the struggles Leeds have had to face so far this season, they could be further behind the leaders so it is a testament to Daniel Farke and his men that they’re already in the mix, and it feels like there is more to come.

Leeds have shown an ability to react to setbacks such as relying on Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell in midfield since the injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev. But on top of this, they have also shown a brilliant pragmatic attitude by turning to the free agent market and snapping up Josuha Guilavogui to bolster their midfield.

Now Leeds may turn their attention to recruiting a player further up the field.

There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Patrick Bamford lately, especially with some sources claiming “he wants to leave” the club. It could make a lot of sense given he is one of Leeds United’s highest earns yet is outside the starting XI.

His earliest opportunity to leave could be in January, but Leeds United would need a replacement and have been linked with a move for RB Salzburg forward and Danish international Adam Daghim.

The move for the £5 million flyer, who is following the same path as Manchester City star Erling Haaland, is facilitated by Red Bull and Leeds’ partnership with them, but according to reports it is the 49ers who are set to back to move splashing the cash to bolster Leeds’ attacking options in their pursuit of promotion.
