49ers under January pressure as alarming manager claim rocks Leeds United transfer plans – ‘I cannot guarantee anything’

Leeds United head into the January transfer window with a more defined plan, prioritising attacking reinforcements as they look to reinforce their Premier League survival push.

An improvement in form has steadied the campaign and eased some of the pressure on Daniel Farke, but questions remain over Leeds’ cutting edge in the final third. The team need reinforcements at both ends of the pitch.

That urgency has been intensified by tactical adjustments. The shift to a 5-3-2 setup places greater emphasis on a dependable goalscorer, while Daniel Farke is also keen to add defensive and creative depth to his squad.

Leeds may now have a huge chance to land a priority target in the winter transfer window, given what a top Premier League manager has said this week.

Leeds United should push to land Harry Wilson in January after Marco Silva’s comments

Harry Wilson was ready to join Leeds on deadline day last summer. However, Fulham decided against selling him with minutes left for the window to shut.

Leeds have been tracking the winger. However, there were claims that he is likely to sign a new Fulham contract this year.

But no deal has been agreed upon yet, and Fulham boss Marco Silva has also failed to provide any guarantees over whether the Welshman will sign a new contract.

Silva was quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “I don’t know if I am going to have him in one week, 15 days, three months or at the end of the season, with good or bad news. I cannot guarantee anything.

“I know he will keep helping the team with goals and assists, and hard work, and now it is for the board and the player’s representatives. He is in a happy place, and so is his family, and we will try to do our best to keep him.”

The 49ers must act

Wilson has been Fulham’s best player this season and their most threatening attacking option on the pitch. His performances have shown why Farke wanted him in the summer.

He has scored seven goals and registered four assists in 20 Premier League appearances this season, and it is clear why Silva is desperate for him to stay.

Games played 20
Goals 7
Assists 4

However, no new contract has been agreed yet, and the 49ers must act decisively and push to take Wilson to Elland Road in the ongoing transfer window.

He is a versatile attacking option who is ready to get straight into the team and will elevate the overall level of the squad at Elland Road.

It makes zero sense for Leeds to sit back and wait for Wilson. Put an offer on the table and tempt Fulham into selling a player they could lose on a free transfer in the summer.

Here we go again what a set of penny pinching owners we have.Yet they are splashing cash on Rangers in Scotland. There is something wrong with our transfer set up every transfer we attempt has a strict limit on the amount hence the August debacle. We need better management of our transfer system and money to invest. How do other teams in the premiere league with just one owner afford to outbid us every time.We are supposed to have billionaire shareholders so where is the backing.Something id s not right and without investment and ambition this 49 ers need to put up or sell up.

What lame excuse is the board preparing for lack of activity come the close of the transfer window. We all know the truth that there is money available to buy one or two new players, also loan deals that can be done now. It seems the Sunderland owners could spank the 49s all day long (men vs boys), they know who to spend on and do not mess about waiting for a last minute hopeful bargain. Yes, they had more money to spend but let’s face it they were on promoted in the play offs and didn’t have as much time to find players as Leeds did. Disgrace on the board – There are several financial savings they could make to fund new players – Sell Harrison, Meslier, etc, get the wages off the books and let them have a fresh start elsewhere. Sack Evans are the other Transfer staff… Read more »
