Leeds United have won just one of their last five games, and are desperately clinging on to the second spot after a poor run of form. The Whites need results to turn in the remaining seven games of the season to secure automatic promotion. One player’s introduction could still be a game-changer Leeds have been looking for at the business end of the campaign.
Daniel Farke has already cracked the whip ahead of the Luton game and revealed on Thursday that Illan Meslier won’t be starting in goal for Leeds United on Saturday.
The Leeds boss was urged to make that change by several observers this week, and the German finally decided to take away his unwavering support from the Frenchman.
We could see a few changes to the Leeds starting eleven on Saturday as the Leeds manager tries to jolt his team back to life at the business end of the season.
And the introduction of one player could be the spark the Whites have been looking for.
The Leeds United star will add creativity and unpredictability to the attack
An accomplished 45 minutes in the number 10 role in the 2-2 draw against QPR ahead of the international break led to Farke hinting that he could use Wilfried Gnonto in that position.
However, the winger picked up an ankle injury on international duty and was only fit enough to be on the bench against Swansea last weekend.
But he added life to the team when he came on towards the end, and seemed to have scored the winner in the final ten minutes before Swansea equalised in injury time.
Gnonto is fit to play from the start, and there is real speculation that Farke could play him in the number 10 role in place of Brenden Aaronson at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
Gnonto needs to be in the starting eleven at Luton
Leeds need some creativity to spark the team back to life at the business end of the season, and Aaronson has failed to provide that for months.
In Gnonto, the Whites have a player who is good enough to replace Aaronson and has the mercurial ability to add that sense of unpredictability to the Leeds attack.
Can you name these 10 former Leeds United players?
The Italian can also run all day for the team, so Leed will not really miss the work-rate that Aaronson adds to the team, and he could be the perfect foil for Joel Piroe.
Farke must now throw caution to the wind and introduce a player in the attacking midfield role who has the creative instincts to open up defences.

been saying for sometime gnonto should nearly start everytime and same with Meslier who is out of form . as far as your comment, dont think throwing caution to the wind is a good idea take each game as it comes and results will follow
