According to reports this past week, Leeds United are still putting together a list of potential summer targets. With Premier League survival almost ensured, the 49ers can look forward to next season.

The last summer window saw significant investment into the first team, and those signings have played a big part in this campaign. The 49ers are ambitious and will be hoping for an even better campaign next year, and will want more quality additions to the team. Leeds still have a lot of decisions to make on current first team stars, with some out of contract and some set to leave Elland Road in the coming months.

With PSR still a problem with the club, following the events in the January window, Leeds United will be cautious on how much they can actually spend this summer. One way the club can work around this is to find quality free agents in the coming months. And as things stand, there is a long list of players whose contracts are set to expire in the coming weeks, with some potentially very good options for this Leeds side.

We take a look at five of them who could be valid targets for the team ahead of next season.

Justin Bijlow

The Dutch keeper is an interesting prospect heading into the summer window. He joined Genoa in the January window, signing a contract till the end of this season. Bijlow will be a free agent this summer, and at 28, is a good age for Leeds United. The Whites could see three first team keepers leave this summer, and the Dutch international could replace one.

Harry Wilson

The Welsh international will definitely be one of the most sought after players in the transfer market. Harry Wilson has racked up 11 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season. He is set to leave Fulham, and Leeds already showed interest in signing him during the summer.

Mathias Jensen

Jensen is a solid midfielder, and plays a huge part in the Brentford team. His contract is set to expire this summer, and at age 30, he could be a useful addition on a free heading into next season. Always available, and chips in with goals, he could be the perfect fit for this current midfield.

Dennis Cirkin

Another former target of the Whites; the Sunderland left back was a big deal in the Championship last year. But he has been displaced from the team this season. His contract is up in the summer, and his quality could provide a useful back up option for Gabriel Gudmundsson heading into next season.

Vincent Janssen

With the Whites’ goal scoring struggles at some points this season, it is obvious Leeds United need another striker. Dominic Calvert-Lewin needs competition, and with Joel Piroe out of favour, bringing in the 31-year old Dutch striker could be a coup. He has scored 31 league goals over the past three seasons in Belgium.
