Leeds United scored 95 goals in the Championship on their way to winning promotion. But it will be much more difficult in the Premier League.

Over the years, the gap between the newly-promoted teams and the rest of the league continues to grow. Clubs have tried different methods to close the gap, but it seems like nothing works. The past two seasons have seen all the new clubs go back down to the Championship.

What will be a shock to Leeds fans is that both Ipswich and Leicester failed to pass 30 points last season after winning promotion with 80+ points.

So this summer, the Whites have addressed the transfer window properly. Leeds have added quality in every area of the team. Daniel Farke also specifically targeted players with physical attributes to match the intensity of English football.

With just weeks to go till the Premier League opener against Everton, Leeds have still not signed a new center forward.

The plan was to add another striker even after acquiring Lukas Nmecha. Last season saw Joel Piroe play a huge load of minutes, as his backup options failed to impress. This season, there is even more need for firepower up top.

According to TBR Football, former Fulham man Aleksandar Mitrovic has been offered to some Premier League sides including Leeds United. Al Hilal could replace the 30-year old this summer, and he has his sights set on a return to England.

Leeds could offload two attackers this summer

Leeds could create space for a potential Mitrovic signing. The club have already made it known to Patrick Bamford that his future lies elsewhere. And as it stands, Mateo Joseph could also leave the club this summer.

Two exits would make enough space to potentially sign Aleksandar Mitrovic on loan, considering his wages and the transfer fee the Saudi side could demand this summer.

Mitrovic would be a solid signing for the Premier League

Since Aleksandar Mitrovic’s last season in England, the Serbian has scored 61 goals in 75 games. He is still capable of playing at the top flight considering how well he has done in Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year old also has more experience at the top level than both Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha. Signing him from Saudi is a huge stretch, but if Leeds can afford it, they need to go all out.
