PSR is a key topic that comes up anytime people discuss Leeds United and their transfers. The financial regulations have been something the club have been aware of for a while.
Going into the Premier League, their money from the Premier League and the ownership combined could allow them to spend up to £100million this summer. Club chairman Paraag Marathe has also ensured the fans that there will be investments to make sure the team competes in the Premier League.
Leeds have spent less than £50million so far, and have gotten four solid signings already – the latest being left back Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Football finance expert Dan Plumley spoke on how the regulations could affect Leeds’ spending this summer:
“You’ve still got to balance the ins and the outs,”
“It’s brilliant to get promoted back to the Premier League and obviously all the financial upside that comes with it.
“But no club at the minute is in the space of being able to just open the chequebook and just spend without concern, because there’s the other side of the equation on outgoings.”

£55M deal could push Sean Longstaff to Leeds United
According to reports, Newcastle are set to complete a big money move for Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga. The former Manchester United star will cost a whopping £55million this summer.
To balance the books, the Magpies will allow Sean Longstaff to leave. He is headed to Leeds, but some parts of the deal still have to be finalized. The Whites are expected to submit a bid in excess of their last £10million + £2million bid.
This full fee will count as profit towards PSR, since Longstaff is an academy product.
Deal will not affect Anton Stach move

Despite reports that a move for Longstaff would mean that Antony Stach’s deal is off, both deals will be pursued. Sky Sports have reported that a deal for the Newcastle man does not rule out a move for Stach this summer.
Understand this – if successful – doesn’t necessarily rule out Leeds United signing midfielder Anton Stach at Hoffenheim. There has been contact already. #LUFC spend would be just over £40m on five signings if Sean Longstaff joins. Striker & goalkeeper still to be signed, too. https://t.co/rCDSVzrrTy

How does Longstaff compare to current midfield options?
Longstaff and Stach would bring two unique midfield profiles to Elland Road. The current crop of midfielders are great on the ball, and favour a more possession based approach.

The duo provide more value off the ball – they can win the ball and move it up the pitch. And in the case of Longstaff, he can arrive late in the box to score some important goals. Stach is also a great distributor outside his immense ball-winning skills.
