Two losses in the space of four days this week has lead to a bit of panic among Leeds United fans. And Wednesday night would have heightened these fears as results in the Premier League did not go their way.

Nottingham Forest and West Ham managed to get huge results, and now the gap between Leeds and the relegation zone. The Whites have another assignment this weekend, as they face Norwich City in the FA Cup – a game in which they will be without Daniel Farke. After that, they have two crucial matches against Crystal Palace and Brentford ahead of the international break.

If Leeds United are to clinch safety, they have to shake off the last few results and try to rediscover their form at the end of the last year.

Leeds United assess Anton Stach contract renewal

The season is not over yet, but Leeds United are already considering some plans for their future. According to TEAMtalk, one of these decisions is whether to offer Anton Stach a new contract. The German midfielder has been a sensation this season, leading to calls for him to make the national team squad for the World Cup. Leeds are reportedly assessing whether to discuss a new and improved deal for Stach.

A number of factors will decide this, including Ethan Ampadu – who seems to be the priority when it comes to contract negotiations. Leeds know the value of Anton Stach, and will decide in the summer if he deserves a deal fit for his performances. Ampadu and Stach will surely be among the targets for other clubs in the league if the Whites fail to avoid relegation.

Midfielder is example of 49ers great summer recruitment

Many Leeds United fans groaned after their summer transfer window; many were unhappy with some of the signings. But as the season has gone on, it has been proven that the 49ers got most of them right. Some summer signings have been great this season, needing little adaptation into the first team. Anton Stach, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have all contributed greatly this season up to this point.

And it took a while, but Jaka Bijol, James Justin and Lukas Nmecha have proved that they are valuable players on or off the bench. Leeds assembled a decent team in the summer, but it took some tinkering for them to look like a team. Hopefully they can do enough in these final games to survive this season.
