The January transfer window presents Leeds United with the chance to bolster their squad as they prepare for the second half of the season. Their recent form has inspired confidence in the team.
Recent wins over Chelsea, and Crystal Palace have seen the Whites put some distance between themselves and West Ham in the relegation zone. Daniel Farke will be pleased with the turnaround in form at this part of the season. Now, it will be up to the ownership to show their ambition and splash the cash in the transfer window.
Update on Jayden Bogle stance on Everton move
Leeds will try to sign players, but there will also be interest in some first team stars. Over a week ago, it was reported that Everton had been monitoring the situation involving Jayden Bogle ahead of January. Former chief Keith Wyness thinks that the defender might change his stance on a potential move after this run of results:
“Well, I think it’s thanks to Daniel Farke and his bit of a good run recently that this is a question mark.” he said speaking on the Football Insider podcast.
“I thought it would have been almost a done deal.
“But now Jayden Bogle’s got to think, well, actually Leeds are looking like they might avoid relegation, and therefore I could stay in at a Premier League club.
“I still think it may just edge him and his agent to think, look, the Friedkin Everton project we just discussed is more attractive than Leeds at the moment.
“There’s some quality players, and they’ll be strengthening coming in, there’s money to spend. So that may just tip them across to think about coming to Everton.
“But there’s no doubt it wasn’t as easy as it would have been just a few weeks ago. Whereas I’m sure it was a no-brainer to come to Everton. Now he’s having thoughts.
“So look, it’s a great game of football, things do change. But I think overall, if his advisors may just be thinking that Everton’s a better bet for him, a better platform for him to go on.
“There’s no doubt he’s a talent, and he’s been performing really well for Leeds. They will do all they can to keep him.”
No chance 49ers let star player go
Since the former Sheffield United man arrived in West Yorkshire, he has quickly become one of the best players at the club. Bogle is the first name on Daniel Farke’s team sheet, and it would take a huge amount of convincing to even strike a deal.
| Statistic | Rank |
|---|---|
| Games Played | Tied-1st |
| Assists | Tied-1st |
| Interceptions | 1st |
| Chances Created | 2nd |
| Progressive Passes | 3rd |
| Tackles Won | 4th |
The 49ers will most likely shoot down any offers, as the fan base would be furious selling one of their best players when the team is fighting for survival. Everton have it all to do if they do want to pull off a shock move.
