63-cap international forward ‘open’ to move – Leeds United January transfer now inevitable

Leeds United dropped the ball towards the end of the summer transfer window, and their failings are now being exposed by the team’s inability to score goals. Daniel Farke is almost certain to demand forwards when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Whites have not scored from open play this season, and their only league goal came from a penalty in their 1-0 win over Everton in their opening game of the campaign. Leeds have now gone more than 270 minutes of league action without celebrating another goal.

Farke has indicated that there is a distinct lack of quality, and his side have not been helped by forwards such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, who are still trying to find their rhythm.

The Leeds manager has already indicated that he is waiting for the winter transfer window, and it’s now inevitable that the Whites will sign one or two attackers in January.

Can you name these 10 former Leeds United midfielders?

Leeds United target Harry Wilson is open to an Elland Road transfer in January

Harry Wilson was keen on a deadline day move to Leeds in the summer, but Fulham changed their mind about selling him just minutes before the end of the window.

The winger will be out of contract at the end of the season, and Fulham are prepared to sell him if he doesn’t sign a new deal in the coming months.

Leeds are ready to revive their pursuit of Wilson in the winter window, and it has been claimed that the player is keen as well.

According to Football Insider, the 27-year-old has opened the door to a move to Leeds in the January transfer window. He wants to play as much football as possible ahead of next year’s World Cup.

A move to Leeds appeals to him, and Fulham have been encouraged by the performances of Kevin and Samuel Chukuweze to let Wilson leave in January.

With his contract expiring, he is likely to be available for a knockdown transfer fee when January rolls around.

Wilson to Leeds deal now seems inevitable

Leeds wanted to sign him on deadline day, and the winger had given his approval to the move. It was only Fulham’s last-minute change of heart that prevented the transfer.

An expiring contract means Fulham will have little option but to sell him to get a fee from his departure, and the winger is also keen on a transfer.

Leeds are again in line to sign him, and are not expecting much problem in securing a deal to take him to Elland Road in the winter window.

It would be a major surprise if Wilson is not a Leeds player in early 2026.
