Almost a full week into the summer transfer window and Leeds United have only confirmed one transfer deal. The status of two of the club’s first team stars is also up in the air.
On 1st June, Eintracht Frankfurt’s transfer for Rasmus Kristensen was officially confirmed. The defender was on loan in the Bundesliga this season, with Frankfurt triggering his option to buy clause late in the season.
Leeds are also waiting on the futures of Sam Byram and Junior Firpo. Both players are in talks over new contracts, and Firpo has a huge deal from the club on the table.

Leeds were linked with a move for Getafe star Christantus Uche. The player broke out in La Liga this season, after making the step up from B-team football. He had four goals and six assists playing in his first ever senior campaign in Spanish football.
But unfortunately for Leeds United fans, it does not seem like he is heading to Elland Road. His agent Peter Ejiasi has dismissed speculations linking his client to a move to England:
“We are calm. When the transfer window opens, you’ll hear a lot of news – some fiction, some gossip.” per All Nigeria Soccer.
“It’s still too early to say what [the outcome] can be, even though it is a good thing for the lad. It shows he is doing something right.”
Uche was supposedly a target for Brentford and Aston Villa.
Leeds need to focus on priorities
The two main areas the club need to focus on this summer are clear: the attack, and a new goalkeeper.
Illan Meslier could very well leave this summer, and the Whites will need a new number one. And a new striker is necessary as relying on Joel Piroe in the Premier League does not look like a solid option.
