‘Agreement reached’ for deal – Leeds United set to wrap up player exit

Leeds United have signed nine new players, but on the other hand, only one first team player has left on a permanent deal. This is despite the list of names that are not in Daniel Farke’s plans this season.

Diogo Monteiro was the only permanent exit, as he left to join Arouca in Portugal. Max Wober was told to find a new club, Joe Gelhardt was made available for sale and Mateo Joseph was sidelined from the first team. All three joined new teams on loans for the upcoming season. Leeds seem to be struggling to offload these players permanently, which could be a PSR issue next year.

Some players like Patrick Bamford and Illan Meslier are still under contract and will not feature in the firs team this season.

According to Deichstube in Germany, Werder Bremen have now reached a ‘financial agreement’ with Leeds over the Isaac Schmidt deal. The report also adds that there is now an option to buy in the loan deal, but the figure has not been disclosed.

The Bundesliga side have scheduled flights for Schmidt in anticipation over the move. But the Whites are yet to find a replacement before they can sanction the transfer deal.

Daniel Farke says Leeds might sign one fullback

Isaac Schmidt was left out of the squad for Monday’s game against Everton. And now, Farke says the club is looking to strengthen the fullback position, which could mean a replacement is on his way.

”We’re quite open and honest about this. I don’t speak about names and any rumours but we have spoken about the full-back position. We might need an addition. We’ve also spoken before the two signings that we would strengthen our offence. Let’s see if we do add even more to the offence, one or two more signings would be beneficial.”
