Saturday night saw Leeds United rack up a huge victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League. It was the first time in Daniel Farke’s career that he had beaten Oliver Glasner.
The result came as a shock to most of the league as Palace headed into the game with the best away record in the division. Leeds on the other hand were also in great form, but no one really expected them to beat the Eagles so comfortably.
A brace from in-form striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and a goal from Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach was enough to seal a 4-1 win at Elland Road.
Ally McCoist thinks Leeds United will stay up ahead of West Ham
The race for survival will only get more intense as the season goes on; currently, there are just eight points between Burnley in 19th place and Leeds in 16th place with more than half of the season to go. Ally McCoist told a West Ham fan on TalkSport that he believes the Hammers will go down, and Leeds will stay up at the end of the season.
| Position | Club | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 16 | Leeds United | 19 |
| 17 | Nottingham Forest | 18 |
| 18 | West Ham United | 13 |
| 19 | Burnley | 11 |
| 20 | Wolverhampton Wanderers | 2 |
“Probably up until the weekend, I’m going to be honest, I genuinely thought you (West Ham) would have had enough (to stay up).
“But the combination of what I’m watching plus the fact Leeds United and one or two who I thought might be around there, they look as though they’re going to pick up points.
“But you know you’ve got a bit of form there with Calvert-Lewin, they look like they’re going to score goals,”
Leeds are one of the most in-form teams in the league
Currently, the Whites are one of the only teams in the Premier League with the longest unbeaten streaks. What Daniel Farke has done to the side since the defeat to Manchester City has been nothing short of extraordinary. The tactical switch to 3-5-2 has been spot on, along with team selection – which fans were not happy with at the start of the campaign.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in great form, and the rest of the team is playing well. They were able to navigate a tough fixture schedule playing most of the league’s top half teams. Now, the have the huge task of maintaining that form throughout the season.
