This summer will mark Patrick Bamford’s seventh year at Leeds United. The striker has been with the club since 2018. From leading the charge in the Championship to scoring 17 goals in the Premier League, he has been a great servant to the club.
However, over the past two seasons his availability has been a huge problem. Leeds do not have a back up striker, and their finances did not allow them to bring in a new one during that time. So it has been a bit frustrating for fans to see the 31-year old be available for just half a season.
Bamford chipped in with some crucial goals in the run to the playoff final last year, but this year has been much different. The striker looks like he is on his last legs heading into the summer.

Heading into the summer, Leeds are stuck with Patrick Bamford for one more year on his contract. With his high wages, the club could do with offloading him in the coming months.
It looks like they have found a lifeline; TEAMtalk report that Wrexham are interested in signing Patrick Bamford from Leeds United. The newly promoted Championship side have spent big as they have risen through the ranks. Back to back promotions over the last two seasons. Their American owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are estimated to be worth £300million combined.
Wrexham were linked with a move for Bamford back in January, and now they have the chance to complete the move in the upcoming window.
Selling Patrick Bamford is the best option
Bamford has started 15 league games combined over the past two seasons in the Championship. Injuries and fitness problems have sidelined him for most of his time. With his age, and contract, Leeds’ best option is to offload him in the summer. If Wrexham bring a reasonable offer, the club need to let Bamford go. His exit would free up wages to spend, and allow the club to finally buy another striker.
AZ Alkmaar star Troy Parrott is the latest attacker to be linked with a move to Elland Road.
