Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has condemned the ‘illegal activity’ which has seen tickets for Leeds United’s game against Everton sold on via third party websites.
The demand for tickets for Leeds games has sky-rocketed in the early part of the season with the club currently having a record number of season ticket holders and members.
As a result many of the club’s paying members were left without a ticket for the first home game of the season against Everton a week on Saturday at Elland Road – such is the demand for tickets at the moment.
But to add insult to injury for those fans that missed out yesterday, tickets have now appeared on a number of third party websites and are being sold on for more than triple their original valuation.
The club has earlier today released a statement saying they plan to tackle the issue and track down those responsible, words the Leeds chairman has doubled down on in a tweet this morning.

He tweeted: “It’s very disappointing to see this situation. This is not fair and I am working with the club management to tackle and stop these illegal activities.”
Radrizzani’s words come after the club released the following statement: “Due to increased demand for Leeds United tickets, we are aware that there has been increased activity on third party websites, illegally selling our tickets at hugely inflated prices.
“We wish to reiterate that Leeds United does not use any third party ticketing agents for general admission tickets. Our official channels are the only way to legally purchase tickets for our games. Our channels include the newly launched Leeds United Ticket Exchange which allows supporters to sell their tickets for individual games back to the club, for us to fairly distribute to loyal supporters who have been unable to get access to tickets to attend.
“We will work to identify and expose those selling their tickets via third party platforms and those tickets will be cancelled and significant bans will also be handed out.”
