Rumours were circulating earlier this week that Manchester United were turning their attention towards Kalvin Phillips after their pursuit of Declan Rice failed.
You would think that Manchester United fans would be thrilled to be linked with one of the best defensive midfielders in the league, but strangely enough this wasn’t the case. “”He’s just another Scott McTominay.” One fan wrote. “We need a ball playing CDM that has the passing range, defensive capabilities and vision on the pitch.” Yes, as ludicrous as it sounds, this fan has just described Kalvin Phillips to a tee.

Another fan commented ‘he had one good game for England and now he’s the new Pirlo’. This fan can’t have watched many England games, as Phillips has never had a bad game for his country.

Kalvin is Leeds through and through though, and probably won’t join Manchester United anyway.
