Anton Stach ‘frustrated’ after national team boss fails to communicate World Cup hopes

Leeds United spent £100million in the summer transfer window, brining in 10 new players. The recruitment was planned as the club wanted to build a team to compete in the Premier League.

Anton Stach was one of the signings Daniel Farke really pushed for during the summer. The German coach wanted him and Sean Longstaff as he felt the midfield options at the club lacked physicality for the Premier League.

Since the midfielder played his first game, he immediately showed his quality. And Leeds look like a different team whenever he plays; it is no surprise that he has displaced regulars from last season like Ao Tanaka.

Multiple first team players left Thorp Arch last week during the international break. But once again, Anton Stach did not receive a call up to the Germany squad. In his first month in England, reports emerged that Stach was being monitored by Julian Nagelsmann and the technical team in their plans for the World Cup.

The Leeds United man has recently spoken to Sky Deutschland, saying that he has received no communication from Nagelsmann over his national team future:

“There hasn’t been any communication so far, which I found a bit of a shame, because if there’s no communication at all, then you naturally feel like you’re very, very far away from the team. So you’re not even in the running,” he said.

Leeds United man’s performances could earn him a callup soon

Last year, Anton Stach’s performances at Hoffenheim put him on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. The midfielder was known as one of the best across Europe’s top leagues. Leeds eventually won the battle to sign him, but he has played a much different role under Daniel Farke.

The German is now more of a box-to-box option who wins the ball, drives the team forward and creates chances – Stach is among the top five players in the Premier League for key passes this season. He might have missed out this month, but if he continues to perform at this level, he could force his way into Germany’s plans before the World Cup next summer.
