Reports are flying this week around Elland Road that Leeds United have started their transfer plans for the summer. This news comes after the club took the driving seat towards automatic promotion this week.
Leeds’ chances of making the Premier League were boosted to 98% last weekend when Sheffield United slipped up in a shocking loss to bottom placed Plymouth. With four games left in the Championship, Leeds could seal automatic promotion if they avoid a loss on Friday and the Blades slip up again.

This week’s news has indicated that Leeds are looking to boost their midfield options this summer. It is very understandable after events of this season. Daniel Farke lost Illia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu for over two months in the middle of the campaign, leaving the squad depleted.
West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has been linked with a move to Elland Road. But, Everton are expected to show their interest in the 30-year old when the summer window opens.
According to Record in Portugal, Leeds United are monitoring Sporting CP midfielder Hidemasa Morita. The Japanese international is teammates with current first team star Ao Tanaka at international level. Morita is said to be ”high on the list” as Leeds prepare for Premier League football. The club are expected to send an offer as soon as they secure promotion.
Ao Tanaka could be key if the deal does progress, he can convince his teammate about life at Elland Road. And if Morita does move, he will have someone who can help him adapt to life in England.
Hidemasa Morita will add quality to the midfield
The 29-year old is said to be the perfect blend of technical ability and attacking instinct. Morita often plays in the pivot but is given a lot of freedom to move forward and join attacks.

He ranks highly in touches in the opposition box, which means he often occupies advanced areas. Morita can create chances and pick a pass. Leeds will need this type of midfield quality if they are to stand a chance of survival in the Premier League.
