Leeds United are pushing to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League with eight games remaining in the season. However, they are also in a fight to hold on to a special talent amidst interest from a number of Premier League clubs ahead of next summer.
Daniel Farke and the Leeds United players are preparing for the Swansea game on Saturday at Elland Road. But behind the scenes, the club are making several transfer decisions with the assumption they will be in the Premier League next season.
Leeds are also keen to hold on to their best players, including emerging young talents who are on the radar of some of the big Premier League teams ahead of the summer.
One such talent is Harry Gray, the brother of Archie Gray. The 16-year-old striker has yet to make his debut, but already, Premier League teams are interested in snaring him away from Elland Road.
The teenager is happy with life at Leeds United at the moment
The 16-year-old forward is catching the eye with his goals for the Leeds Under-18s this season, and he is regarded even more highly than his brother Archie, who joined Tottenham last summer.
Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham are interested in snaring him away from Leeds in the summer transfer, but the Whites are hopeful of holding on to him.
Journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that while Leeds are in a fight to keep him, they have a decent chance of holding on to Harry as he is happy at Elland Road and is still not ready for Premier League football.
“I personally don’t see Harry Gray playing Premier League football next season”, he told LeedsUnited.News.
“But Leeds regard him very highly. They have a fight on their hands to keep him, but he’s pretty happy with how things are going.”
Leeds must hold on to him
The Gray family have a long and illustrious history at Leeds, and Archie’s decision to move on from Elland Road last summer was not taken lightly.
Harry is still at the development stage of his career with years of his football career ahead of him. It is unlikely the Gray family would be ready to uproot him from Leeds this early in his career.

However, the threat for Leeds is that the forward cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 17 this October and this provides a window of opportunity to clubs wanting to sign him.
With Harry seemingly content with life at Leeds, the club must feel confident that he will sign his first professional contract with the Whites. It would be far too early for the club to lose him.
