Leeds United will have a busy summer ahead of them. But at least Daniel Farke can tick off winning the Championship this weekend. The league title did not come easy but the Whites delivered on the final day.
Before their game against Plymouth, Leeds were level on points with Burnley. The Clarets had the advantage on Saturday, playing in front of their home crowd at Turf Moor. Plymouth made their home advantage count, taking the lead early in the first half.
It took Leeds until 10 minutes into the second half before they could respond. Wilfried Gnonto levelled the scores early in the second period as the club chased the win. Burnley were leading Millwall in their final game, so Leeds needed a win. It took until the 91st minute when Manor Solomon scored the winner to secure the title.
Now, Leeds can focus on the summer transfer window. Daniel Farke mentioned early last week that the work has already began:
”We’ve had a few meeting already [re strategic planning]. Many structural and personal changes in the past. It’s important we sit down together and have clarity over budget. Scouts and data analysts doing a very good job.”

Leeds United target Ipswich Town forward

Adding some firepower in attack seems to be the latest target for the Whites. This season, the goals have been spread out, with only three players with more than 10 goals.
According to Caught Offside, Leeds are set to address this as they target Omari Hutchinson. The Ipswich Town forward is drawing a lot of interest ahead of this summer. With his team having been relegated, clubs are eager to snap up the forward. Hutchinson cost 20million when he joined from Chelsea in the summer, and a fee around that range could be enough to secure a deal.
West Ham and Aston Villa are the latest to join the race for the 21-year old. The England U21 international was once praised by Brazil legend Pele when Hutchinson played in a tournament in South London, as a 12-year old.
Omari Hutchinson fits this Leeds attack
Hutchinson can play across the attack, and behind the striker. His dribbling and ability to carry the ball is his best attribute. Unfortunately, playing in a struggling Ipswich side stifled his numbers. But he is still very much a Premier League level player; Leeds United need to push for this move.
