Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is preparing his team for the Swansea City clash at Elland Road on Saturday as they push to secure automatic promotion. The Whites manager is under pressure to deliver promotion after losing the playoff final last season and has bigger things to worry about. However, thinly-veiled barbs at his managerial skills have continued to rain on the German.
Daniel Farke does not have time to worry about other things as his team chase automatic promotion going into the remaining eight games of the Championship season.
Leeds do not want to get sucked into the playoff spots as last season’s failure is still fresh in their minds and are pushing to ensure they avoid any end-of-the-season drama in the Championship.
However, Farke is not escaping criticism of his management, and it appears a forward has now indirectly attacked the way the Leeds boss is difficult to deal with during his time at Elland Road.
Attacker aims thinly-veiled criticism at Daniel Farke
Gelhardt left Leeds to join Hull City on loan in the winter transfer and he is enjoying life under Tigers boss Ruben Selles.
The forward has scored three times for Hull and has been used in several different attacking positions by the manager in the Championship team.
The attacker admitted that he is enjoying working under Selles because of the clarity he brings into his tactics and the kind of football he wants his teams to play.
Gelhardt also insisted that he loves the man-management of Selles as well as he is very approachable and any player can go talk to him any time they want.
“He’s great. He goes into a lot of detail on the pitch, and his tactics going into a game are made very clear. The football we play is good, and we press high”, Gelhardt told Hull City’s media.
“I’d like to think we’re exciting to watch because we’re attacking and brave on the ball.
“Even just as a person, taking the football away, his man-management is brilliant. He always makes sure the players are OK and you can always just go and talk to him, so he’s a great guy and a great manager.”
Gelhardt’s departure seems nailed-on
The 22-year-old forward got little joy from Farke when he was at Leeds, and it appears the German just refused to trust him even when his other attackers were floundering.
A loan move in January was inevitable, and it seems Gelhardt has found a manager in Selles who is prepared to place his faith in his undoubted natural ability.
Can you name these 10 former Leeds United players?
Gelhardt has no way back at Leeds, at least with Farke in charge at Elland Road, and a permanent transfer seems like a given in the summer window.
Hull want to secure safety in the Championship first, but signing Gelhardt on a permanent deal has been deemed a no-brainer.
