Patrick Bamford has put an end to rumours surrounding his future by signing a new 5 year deal that will keep him at the club until 2026.
Bamford’s contract was due to expire next year, although there were rumours that an extension had been triggered that would keep him in Leeds until 2023. However, he has now put pen to paper on a 5 year deal.
Bamford lit the Premier League up last season despite doubts about whether he would be able to make the step up. The former Middlesbrough forward scored 17 goals in the Premier League, 1 more than he managed in the promotion campaign. In fact, only Harry Kane scored more among English players.
Bamford has seen major improvements since joining Leeds for £7 million in 2018, and a large part of that is due to the faith that the club and Marcelo Bielsa have had in him. It’s refreshing to see a player repay the faith that a club has in them by signing a long term deal.
