Bamford, three others ruled out for Cardiff tie

Jesse Marsch has ruled out four players ahead of Leeds’ FA Cup clash against Cardiff City.

Patrick Bamford, Adam Forshaw, Stuart Dallas and Luis Sinisterra are unavailable this weekend. Leeds will be hoping for a win to give them momentum after their draw midweek against West Ham.

Bamford returned to training on 6 January after undergoing surgery during the World Cup break. The striker was carrying a groin issue since October, and flew to Munich, Germany to be operated on by world renowned specialist Dr Ulrike Muschaweck.

Marsch also says he expects Adam Forshaw and Luis Sinisterra are expected to be in training next week. Sinisterra has been out for 10 weeks with a Lisfranc injury, and has recovered well with the expectation that he will join the squad next week.

Forshaw also had a procedure to address his injury problems after the West Ham game.

LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross wrote, “Marsch explains a lot of doubts across the team, which he won’t go into in the hope many of them are back for Sunday. Bamford back in training today. Forshaw and Sinisterra back in next week hopefully.”

Leeds travel to Cardiff for their FA Cup tie on Sunday.
