Rumours were circling earlier this week that Manchester United were turning their attention towards Kalvin Phillips, having given up on Declan Rice.
But those rumours are set to be put dead in their tracks as David Anderson of the Daily Mirror is reporting that Kalvin Phillips is ‘ready’ to sign a new deal with Leeds United.
‘He loves the club, is happy there and feels he is achieving all his football ambitions with them.’ Reported Anderson. ‘talks on new, improved terms will begin soon.’ This is amazing news for Leeds United fans who may have been concerned that the England international would want to play Champions League football.

The England player of the year is Leeds United through and through, and apparently wants to stay with his hometown club. Whether or not this new contract will contain a release clause remains to be seen; but as we saw with Jack Grealish’s move to Manchester City this summer, it’s a possibility.
