Leeds United will kick off their season when they face Everton in the Premier League on Monday night. But the club know they have a lot of things to check off their list before then.
The Whites made a huge signing on Wednesday, as they revealed that they had agreed a deal to bring in Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The former Everton man will bring in bags of experience up top. His goal record in recent seasons has been solid, and would be a welcomed addition to the team.
Leeds decided on him after the pursuit of Fulham star Rodrigo Muniz fell short.
If Calvert-Lewin is able to complete his medical and finalize the deal, he will be in line to start against his old club on Monday.

Leeds United to face Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup
The second round draw for the Carabao Cup has ended, and Leeds United will face Sheffield Wednesday. The Championship side beat League One side Bolton Wanderers in the first round tie.
The tie will take place in the week of 25th August. Leeds will begin their cup journey, that players and fans will hope can end in success.
Leeds’ recent Carabao cup record
Since 2020, Leeds have exited at the second round of the Carabao Cup twice. Last year’s journey ended in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough. The club had more success in the FA Cup where they nearly reached the fifth round.
Daniel Farke has always had a measured approach to cup competitions as he explained last season.
“We want to be successful and want to use the chance to go through to the fifth round. We know it’s not realistic to win the FA Cup but who knows? If we have a chance to go to the next round in front of a packed Elland Road we want to take it, without risking anything. We want to be there with a successful starting line-up. It’s important not to do anything stupid.”
