Leeds fans were beaming with pride this past week as they saw Raphinha make his Brazil debut. The winger notched 2 assists on his debut as a half time substitute against Venezuela.
But now, this could come back to bite Leeds United. Brazil head coach Tite is set to give Raphinha his full debut on Friday as they take on Uruguay. The only issue is that Leeds play Southampton the following day.
It would be near impossible for Raphinha to make it back in time for the gamer in a suitable fitness level. This highlights a truly absurd level of fixture congestion, something Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has complained about previously.
Bielsa admitted earlier today that it is unlikely Raphinha will feature. “If there’s any risk that the fatigue could cause injuries then we won’t risk it.” He went on to reveal that he “can’t offer any certainties.”
