Leeds United were a formidable team in the Championship this season. 100 points and 95 goals scored on the way to winning the leauge title is not an easy feat.
What makes it more impressive is how the club managed this after losing three of their best players. Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter combined for over 40 goals last year, but both moved to Premier League clubs. EFL Young Player of the season Archie Gray also departed.
So it is not a surprise when there is huge expectations for the club to be active in the transfer market this summer.

Most of the fans at Elland Road were very vocal when criticizing some players this season. The two players that were on the end of the complaints frequently were Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson. Despite the attacking duo carrying most of the goalscoring burden this season, their performances were scrutinized.
Some fans even suggested that both should be sold, as they would not translate their form to the Premier League.
USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino has now come out in defence of Aaronson. The former Chelsea coach has praised the attacking midfielder for his performances this season:
”For Brenden, we already know his quality. The most important thing is that he keeps bringing his energy, positivity, enthusiasm, and passion. He is the type of player that transmits energy to the rest of the team.”
He then added that the 24-year old is an important player, in the USMNT presser on Thursday.
“These feelings are really important. He is a player that already has experience, he was really good last season for Leeds as they won the Championship. He is an important player that can help build our spirit and he needs to understand that he cannot stop being the way that he is.”
Pochettino is right about Aaronson
Despite the criticisms about his contribution on the pitch, Brenden Aaronson was an underrated performer this season. He ranked near the top of every important metric for attacking midfielders this season.
