Looking at the business Leeds United have done so far, Daniel Farke is set to have one thing he did not have last season – quality in depth.
Leeds found themselves in difficult situations in some periods during the last campaign because some key players did not have backups. Especially in midfield, where the club had to bring in 34-year old Josuha Guilavogui on a free transfer in midseason because Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev were injured.
Now, Farke has depth across the pitch, with more signings expected in the coming days.

Leeds United interested in former Aston Villa star

This summer, Leeds brought in three defensive players – Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Three players who have played in top leagues in Europe, and will add serious quality to the backline. But according to Turkish outlet Takvim, Leeds are keen on adding former Aston Villa star Diego Carlos this summer. The Brazilian is now at Fenerbahce after completing a January move.
The report claims that Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley are keen on signing the 32-year old on a loan deal.
Sebastiaan Bornauw ready to fight for his place in the team
Ahead of the new season, new signing Sebastiaan Bornauw has already claimed his place in the first team. The Belgian is ready to challenge for a spot in the starting XI.
“I think we have four good centre-backs,”
“We are all going to try to play a good pre-season, and then I think he [Farke] will make his choice.
The former Wolfsburg man also says his dream is to play in the Premier League.

Diego Carlos link does not make sense
Looking at this rumour closely, it looks less and less like Leeds need another defender. The club are currently fine with the four options they have, and none of them look like leaving soon. Going into the Premier League with a core of Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Jaka Bijol and Sebastian Bornauw competing at center back is a good thing.
A move for Carlos looks like a wild rumour among the headlines.
