Leeds United are hoping to return to the winners’ circle this weekend, and it is vitally important that the Whites get back to winning ways.
Leeds could have been top of the league had things gone differently. It can be traced back to the draw against Sunderland, the side who now sit top of the league.
The West Yorkshire side led 2-1 late on but dropped two points thanks to an Illan Meslier blunder which cost them the win and ultimately top spot. They did respond to that setback ending Sheffield United’s unbeaten run with a 2-0 win before defeating Watford 2-1.
However, they received another setback when they were unable to score at Ashton Gate drawing with Bristol City 0-0 last week losing ground on Sunderland and slipping five points behind the Black Cats. It was also a missed opportunity to leapfrog ahead of Burnley into second spot, so it is vital they defeat Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle.
Without Largie Ramazani, Jayden Bogle, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, it won’t be straight forward, but it could be a key development but Leeds also need to think further ahead than this weekend.

Bundesliga club could spend £12 million on Leeds United star
There has been a lot of talk about Rasmus Kristensen recently. The right back joined Leeds in 2022, but has spent most of his time away on loan.
He joined AS Roma last year before joining Eintracht Frankfurt this year. He started positively in the Bundesliga, but questions were raised about his form after a poor performance in Europe and matters were made worse by what is being referred to as a “serious” muscle injury.
Now though, according to Sports Witness, the German club are willing to enter talks with Leeds over a permanent move for the right back. According to the latest update, they could pay between £10 million and £12 million for Kristensen.
This could be a major financial boost for the club and it could help them recruit impressively in the summer transfer window especially if they get promoted to the Premier League.
