Burnley recorded a shock victory over Leeds United this past weekend which caused some shocking reactions from the Whites’ fanbase. Scott Parker’s side continued their stubborn run against Daniel Farke.
The German still has just one win against the Clarets since he arrived in England. Many were expecting Leeds to be the favourites heading into the game after their start to the season. Getting big results against Everton, Newcastle, Wolves and Spurs showed a lot of positives. Burnley only had one win before the visitors arrived this past weekend.
Scott Parker’s side took a shock lead after just 18 minutes as Lesley Ugochukwu found himself unmarked to head home from Kyle Walker’s cross. Leeds tried their best to level the scores before half time but went into the break with a deficit. Daniel Farke’s men put up an incredible second half performance, but their missed chances came to bite them as Luom Tchaouna sealed the game with a long-range effort.

Burnley boss Scott Parker spoke on how getting the first goal was very key in Saturday’s win over Leeds United.
“As always when you go into a game, you always want to get in front,” Parker said.
“I thought we set about it well early on [against Leeds].
“I thought we looked a real threat, we had some real good bits and we managed to get our noses in front [thanks to Lesley Ugochukwu’s header].
“We have to weather certain things, which is the Premier League, you’re going to have to do that. But the second goal [from Loum Tchaouna] obviously comes at a brilliant time for us.”
Daniel Farke has to be weary of West Ham threat on Friday
With the way this week has gone, another poor result against West Ham on Friday could set off alarm bells. The season has suddenly taken a turn for the worse in the last couple of weeks. Daniel Farke has to go back to the drawing board and make changes to the team to stop this current run of form. West Ham will also be looking for their first win under Nuno Espirito in what is sure to be a hotly-contested game.
