Ahead of Saturday, it looked to be a done deal that Leeds United would get a result at Turf Moor. Eight points in the league after seven games was much better than what Scott Parker’s side had totalled.
Adding on top of that, the Clarets had just one Premier League win this season. But Leeds were shocked early in the second half as Burnley took the lead within the first 20 minutes. Lesley Ugochukwu connected with Kyle Walker’s cross to give his side the lead. The Whites then missed a big opportunity to equalize just before half time.
It was a similar story in the second half – Leeds dominated proceedings, and should have scored at least one goal, but Burnley doubled their lead and saw out the game from there.
QUIZ: Can you name these 10 former Leeds United defenders?
Burnley star breaks down his goal against Leeds United

Daniel Farke in the post match press conference refused to lay blamed onto any player. According to him, Leeds should have done better ‘between both boxes’. He was right in a sense that the Whites should have taken their chances and defended better. The first goal saw Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon caught ball watching as Ugochukwu headed the ball into the net.
In the second half, Burnley midfielder Luom Tchouana had all the time and space in the world after receiving a pass, and fired one home from outside the box. According to the midfielder, he saw that Karl Darlow was not ready and took the opportunity to shoot:
“I touch the ball, I turned, I watched the goalkeeper and he was not ready. I saw that I had an angle for the shot so I shot and it was a beautiful goal, so I am happy,”
Lucas Perri surely returns to the team now
Perri is back in training, but Daniel Farke said that the Brazilian might not be ready to start immediately. However, after seeing Darlow in the last two games against Burnley and Spurs, it is almost guaranteed that Lucas Perri is back in goal against West Ham. Farke has a tough decision to make ahead of next weekend’s game.
