Atalanta are in talks to sign Leeds United target Nikola Krstovic
Nikola Krstovic has been incessantly linked with a move to Leeds all summer, despite suggestions that his preference is to stay in Italy.
Roma’s interest in the striker has faded after signing Evan Ferguson on loan, and his wish to join a bigger Italian club has been diminishing.
Recent reports suggest Leeds are still interested in him, and with options in Italy diminishing, Krstovic could agree to move to Elland Road this summer.
However, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Atalanta have their eyes on signing the Lecce striker in the ongoing transfer window.
The Bergamo club have a concrete interest in the forward, and opened talks with Lecce to try and secure a deal to sign Krstovic this summer.
The striker is keen on the move as Atalanta, who have established themselves in the top half of Serie A. They will play Champions League football next season.
Personal terms are not expected to be a problem if the Bergamo club can agree on a fee with Lecce for Krstovic.

Krstovic may have been on Leeds’ shortlist of strikers, and talks could have taken place between his camp and the Whites. But a move has always been unlikely.
The striker wants to stay in Italy, and Leeds’ preference has always been to sign a striker with Premier League experience.
Muniz remains on their radar, and Leeds have explored the possibility of signing Everton forward Beto this summer.
Leeds are also believed to be considering making a move for former Newcastle and Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic this month.
