Leeds United are still figuring out what to do with the squad this summer as they prepare for the Premier League. Daniel Farke and his recruitment team are yet to make any major signings.
So far, the focus seems to be on sorting the futures of the current players before moving on to the summer window. Leeds’ retained list indicated that Sam Byram and Junior Firpo will be offered new deals. Both players were set to leave Elland Road this summer, but now, plans look to have changed.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretto has reported that AC Milan have shortlisted Junior Firpo this summer as senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic plans a rebuild. The Serie A side missed out on the Champions League next season, and are keen on qualifying next year. Milan are also considering the prospect of selling left back Theo Hernandez, which could be why Junior Firpo’s name has popped up on their radar.
Firpo’s contract with Leeds is up next month, and he will be available as a free agent.
Junior Firpo needs to make his stance clear
Keeping Leeds United on the hook for the past few weeks has surely rubbed some fans the wrong way. Weeks since winning the Championship and the title parade, and the only hint he gave on his future was on Instagram live. With the news surrounding the club, Firpo needs to make a decision on his future.
It would allow Leeds to move on faster and find a replacement for him. Dragging along contract talks or negotiations for the summer only hurts the club’s preparation for next season.
