Chelsea star Wesley Fofana says that the team worked on targeting Leeds United on set pieces as they secured their first victory in six games.
The Frenchman headed home from Ben Chilwell’s corner early in the second half as they scored the only goal in the game. He says the goal was no coincidence, and that Chelsea worked on set pieces ahead of the game:
“Not nerves but excitement for the win, the fans and the club. It is a difficult situation but everyone in the club pushes for a win. Yesterday in training we worked on set-pieces and today I scored one. It’s a good feeling.”
The goal was only the second in Fofana’s Chelsea career, the first coming in a 3-0 win against AC Milan.
Leeds failed to score in consecutive games after losing to Fulham midweek. The Whites are home at Elland Road as they welcome high-flying Brighton this weekend.
