Leeds United are flying high after their big result over the weekend. Daniel Farke’s side beat Wolves 3-1 away from home. There is now a lot of optimism around the club.
Seven points in five games is a very good start to the season for the Whites. Leeds scored three goals over the weekend, ending their drought from the start of the season. New signings Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor were also on the scoresheet. Farke made some bold calls when it came to the team selection, and it paid off.
If Leeds are able to keep their heads above water till January, then the club’s ownership could splash the cash on transfers.

Leeds had been credited with interest in signing Manchester City youngster in the past few weeks. It has now been reported that Chelsea have joined the race to sign the 20-year old. Football Insider are also reporting that Lyon and Leverkusen are tracking the midfielder ahead of January.
“Chelsea are big admirers of him, there’s been talk of interest from abroad as well by Leverkusen, Lyon.
“But for me, Nico O’Reilly probably will remain at Manchester City. I don’t see City opening the door for him to leave.”
Pep Guardiola unlikely to let midfielder leave
There may be interest in the Manchester City star, but the youngster is slowly becoming a big part of the team. He has filled in for the injured Rayan Ait-Nouri in the past few games. Pep Guardiola also had a lot of praise for him after his last performance against Manchester United. After the game, he spoke very highly of O’Reilly:
“Nico O’Reilly… he’s a top, top player. He can play in three, four positions”.
“His presence in set-pieces, one-v-one, with the ball he’s really good, arrives good in the final positions”.
“He’s a player hopefully for many years!”
If O’Reilly is to leave in January, it will be highly unlikely that it will be on a temporary deal, that is why Chelsea might be the favourites in this situation. Leeds are flying high and are stacked in midfield, there is no urgency to sign the Manchester City star.
