Chris Sutton gives Leeds United vs Burnley prediction, as Daniel Farke calls up three youngsters to squad

Leeds United will visit Turf Moor this weekend as club football resumes after the international break. Daniel Farke will face Burnley once again as he looks for his second ever win against the Clarets in his managerial career.

Last season, Leeds failed to beat Scott Parker in both games in the Championship. But this time around, the Whites arguably have a more improved team while Burnley lost some key players. Saturday presents a very good chance of adding three points and pushing the club further away from the relegation zone.

Leeds sit in 15th place so far, with eight points from seven league games.

Chris Sutton has been speaking to BBC Sport on what he thinks will happen in Saturday’s game. The former Premier League player believes that there is not much to separate the two teams, and that he expects a draw at Turf Moor.

“Scott Parker’s side have been competitive in most of their other games too, but so have Leeds, who have scored the same amount of goals as Burnley – seven – but feel like they carry a bit more of a threat.

“This is going to be very tight. I don’t like going for too many draws, but this fixture finished 0-0 in the Championship last season, and I am going for the same outcome this time. 0-0.”

The last time Leeds beat Burnley was in 2022, and their last win at Turf Moor came four years ago. Saturday will be a tightly contested game regardless of the form of both sides.

Daniel Farke calls up three youngsters to first team training

With injury having hit the club hard over the past few weeks, Daniel Farke has looked to the youth teams to get numbers in first team training. This week, Sam Chambers, Rhys Chadwick and Luke Matykiewicz have all been spotted in this week’s Inside Training video.

There are some doubts for Saturday’s game, with Harry Gray, and Wilfried Gnonto having been ruled out by Daniel Farke in Thursday’s press conference. Noah Okafor and Daniel James have been mentioned as doubts ahead of the Burnley game. It is unlikely, but one of these youngsters could get a spot in the matchday squad if these players are unavailable.
