Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has conceded that Alfie Gilrchist lacks the attacking qualities of Jayden Bogle who joined Leeds United in the summer.
Bogle completed a permanent move from Sheffield United to Leeds in the summer transfer window as part of the Whites’ plans to bring in a new full-back.
The 24-year-old has wasted little time in nailing down a place in the starting eleven and is the first-choice right-back at Elland Road this season.
Bogle has attracted criticism for his defensive performance in Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Burnley last weekend but he is not likely to lose his place in the team going forward.
Wilder brought in Gilchrist on loan from Chelsea to replace Bogle and the 20-year-old has started the first five Championship games of the season.

Wilder is a fan of the 20-year-old defender and believes his pace and defensive nous have added something different to the Sheffield United team.
He is also expecting him to further develop this season but admitted that he doesn’t have the attacking threat that Bogle used to add to his team from the right-back position.
“Alfie is good when he’s backing up Brooksy or Jes, and he can play right of a three”, Wilder was quoted as saying by The Star.
“He’s not a Jayden Bogle, he’s not going to be in the other penalty area 8/10 but you’ve seen his defensive qualities.
“He’s quick, he’s a good defender. He was a big signing for us and he’s going to enjoy it. He is enjoying it at the minute and he’ll get better, as the team will.”
Leeds will hope Bogle will shake off the mistakes he made against Burnley and step up his game as Leeds prepare for an important run of games in the league until the October international break.
