The Leeds United players silenced some of their detractors on Saturday afternoon when they beat Wolves 3-1 at Molineux. Three of their new signings got on the scoresheet, and the Whites managed to move up to seven points from their opening five league games.
The Whites had a few questions to answer going into the game against Wolves. They hadn’t scored from open play in their first four games, and their only goal until Saturday came from the penalty spot.
An early lead for Wolves threatened another poor result. However, Leeds fought back brilliantly and scored three goals in 14 minutes in the first half to completely turn things around and more or less sealed the three points even before the break.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor scored their first goals for the club, and Leeds demonstrated why they could buck the recent trend of promoted teams immediately going back to the Championship this season.

Danny Murphy insists Leeds United have not received the rewards for their performances

Leeds were desperately unlucky at Fulham last weekend when Gabriel Gudmundsson’s unfortunate own goal in injury time led to their defeat.
The Whites looked a more confident and brighter side at Wolves, and scored the goals needed to ensure that luck didn’t have any role to play in the result.
Danny Murphy was impressed by the performance at Wolves, and he liked the clinical and confident nature of the Leeds side at Molineux.
He insisted Leeds have looked like a solid side this season, and their points total does not reflect the way they have played in the Premier League since earning promotion.
“They were really clinical and actually looked like a confident side”, Murphy said on the Match of the Day via Leeds Live.
“They’ve had some half-decent performances since the season started without probably getting the rewards.”
Leeds have a chance to be in a great position going into the October break
The win at Wolves becomes even more important as Leeds now have back-to-back home games ahead of the October international break.
The Whites will face Bournemouth at Elland Road before hosting Tottenham just before the players fly out for their international duty next month.
Leeds have looked solid and resolute at home, and beating them at home would be a tough nut to crack for even the big teams, as Newcastle found out.
Leeds will back themselves to pick up some valuable points in the next two games and ensure they are in a good position in the table before the October international break.
